Reviews for FUR BALL FEVER

Yesterday, I Googled my book, and discovered to my surprise that two reviewers had posted awesome reviews for FUR BALL FEVER. Both reviews happened at the best possible time as far as I was concerned, because I was beginning to lose self-confidence.

Romance in Review posted the following at

Fur Ball Fever by Maureen Fisher is a delightful romance that is filled with fun humor, great characters, mystery, and suspense.

Grace Donnelly is a dog lover who runs a dog grooming business. She also has a real knack for finding trouble. Someone has stolen a prize winning poodle that was entrusted to her care and she has to find that dog, but she’s going to have to do the unthinkable and ask her ex-boyfriend, Nick Jackson, for help. Nick is just like the men in her family who think she is a helpless female who needs a man to tell her what to do. Asking for his help is the last thing she wants to do, but as the security officer for their community she needs his help to track the dog-nappers.

I highly recommend this book! It’s well written with a fresh and fun story that makes an enjoyable escape. I loved Grace and Nick, even though I got frustrated with them at times, I really liked them and was rooting for them the whole way. I like a strong female character, and I tend to be partial to the ones who have a stubborn streak, perhaps because I might be just a tad like them. (Just a tad.) So, I really liked Grace and admired her spunk. I laughed out loud more times than I can count and I was hooked from the minute I started reading until the very end. There are a few steamy parts, but I would consider it low on the sexy heat scale. This is the first book that I have read by Maureen Fisher but I definitely hope to read more. I love her sense of humor and I do adore a book that makes me laugh out loud!

As if that wasn’t enough, Sensual Reads also posted the following review at

“In a tale filled with laugh-out-loud humor, lots of action, and hot sex, Maureen Fisher gives the reader a fast-paced book guaranteed to please any lover of suspense tales.”

Grace Donnelly, a woman of action, finally has everything she wants.  Her pet spa is a success.  With her nutty aunt Beth at her side, Grace does not need anyone else to complicate her life…until someone kidnaps one of the dogs in her care.  The dog won the previous year’s Jersey Shore Fur Ball and is the favorite to win this year as well.  Grace soon learns that two other prize-winning dogs are missing from the complex where she lives.  Grace needs help and she has no choice but to seek out her former lover.  He controls the security cameras at the complex and she needs to see the previous night’s recordings to see if she can identify the kidnapper.  Will he help her or hold their old relationship against her?

Nick Jackson broke up with Grace because is reckless and her actions could get her killed one day.  Nick senses trouble when Grace appears on his doorstep.  He has a job to do and he does not have time to listen to her problems.  Nick is investigating a local preacher who bilked his grandfather out of his savings and murdered a man.  Nick soon learns that the search for the missing dogs is related to his investigation.  Nick decides to make Grace his partner to keep her safe.  He soon finds that he still has feelings for the beautiful spitfire.  Will Nick be able to find the missing dogs and bring down his prey?

In a tale filled with laugh-out-loud humor, lots of action, and hot sex, Maureen Fisher gives the reader a fast-paced book guaranteed to please any lover of suspense tales.  Grace’s family ignored her desire to make a life of her own and tried to control her.  Grace finally has the life she wants and will never let a man control her again.  Nick, an old-fashioned man, wants to protect Grace from harm, even if it means wrapping her up in cotton to protect her.  This story takes the reader from a comfortable housing complex in New Jersey to Atlantic City and even includes several visits to Kinki, a BDSM club.  Grace’s Aunt Beth, a hippie chick who never grew up, adds additional hilarious moments to the story.  This book is a mystery with sizzling hot sex and laughs galore.  I was sorry to see it end.
