Lately I’ve been preoccupied by with my re-write of COLD FEET FEVER.
The bad news is I’ve hit a major snag. My critique partner pointed out ever-so-gently that my Black Moment (that’s the point in a romance novel where it looks like there’s no hope for the couple) DID NOT WORK. Worse, after losing two days in deep denial accompanied by insomnia and vast quantities of chocolate, I was forced to agree with her. <sigh> I hate it when that happens.
The good news is that after floundering around for several days, I have a solution that not only works, but is far superior to the original.
Now all I need to do is re-write most of the last third of the book. And go back and re-work some scenes to lay the groundwork for the new Black Moment. In five weeks. Eeeek.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THIS AT HOME UNLESS HIGHLY MOTIVATED.
